The Ed and Martha Wright Combination Bit allows for the mouthpiece and nosepiece to work
simultaneously. A combination works well on some horses as it applies a “cavesson” type of effect and
deters a horse from opening their mouth because the curb chain and nosepiece are preventing the horse from gaping their mouth as much. When a horse can’t gape their mouth open, they have more feel on their face. 
The combination bit comes standard with the 3 piece twisted gag mouthpiece but can also be made with as a locked in the other mouthpieces as well. (3 piece smooth, 2 piece smooth, 2 piece
twisted, or chain).
